Raw honeycomb — honey still sealed in the wax the bees capped it in, cut from frames in our rescued hives around Berwick and South East Melbourne. Nothing spun out of it, nothing strained, nothing added. Buy it cut fresh to order, or take a full frame exactly as it came off the hive. Every purchase funds the next rescue.
Cut comb or full frame
- Cut Fresh Honeycomb — cut to order from 100g to 200g, $20–$40. Thin-capped comb that melts rather than chewing like gum. We freeze the frame whole before cutting, so the pieces come out clean-edged and sit flat in the tub. Expect a little honey pooled underneath — cut comb always releases some, and it's the honey that was in the cells.
- Full Frame Honeycomb — $300 for a whole frame, drawn and capped by one colony and lifted out unbroken. This is the serving-board version: a cheese course, a restaurant pass, a wedding table.
New to comb? How to eat it, what it tastes like, and how to keep it.
Why our honeycomb costs more
A frame of comb is honey the colony doesn't get back. Bees burn through roughly seven kilos of honey to build the wax for one frame, so every frame we cut is one they don't reuse next season. Supermarket comb comes from hives run for volume, often trucked between crops. Ours comes from stationary, chemical-free hives at sixteen sites across South East Melbourne, at least five kilometres from broadacre crops, with no synthetic miticides ever used in them. Same standard as our raw honey — the comb just skips the extractor entirely.
Prefer it in a jar? That's our raw and creamed honey. Local pickup in Berwick, or come and find us at the market.
